Before remodeling
Pre-renovation asbestos inspections
A renovation-focused inspection evaluates accessible suspect materials that the defined project may disturb. A bathroom gut renovation, roof replacement and isolated flooring removal require different scopes.
Before demolition
Pre-demolition inspections
Demolition may disturb materials throughout a structure, so the inspection is broader than a targeted renovation survey. Property access, utilities, concealed assemblies and unsafe areas can affect completeness.
We confirm whether the request is partial or complete demolition and document the areas and limitations included in the inspection.

Commercial asbestos testing
We support offices, retail spaces, multi-family properties and other commercial buildings with defined inspection areas, sample records and communication suitable for owners, contractors and property managers.
For larger or phased work, we separate inspected areas and homogeneous materials so the report tracks the actual project.
Targeted service
Bulk material sampling
When the concern is limited to specific materials, a licensed inspector can collect representative bulk samples, maintain chain-of-custody and submit them to an independent laboratory for analysis.
A small sampling request is not automatically a complete renovation or demolition inspection. We state exactly what was—and was not—evaluated.
Regulatory context
Massachusetts asbestos requirements
MassDEP regulates asbestos emissions and renovation or demolition activity under 310 CMR 7.15. The Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards regulates asbestos licensing, training and work practices under 454 CMR 28.00. Before work disturbs suspect building materials, owners and contractors need a defensible determination of whether regulated asbestos-containing material is present.
Requirements depend on the building, work activity, materials and quantities involved. RPB provides inspection and testing; owners, contractors and applicable agencies remain responsible for project-specific permitting, notification and compliance decisions.

Standard laboratory results are often available in about 24 hours. Rush options may be available based on laboratory capacity, sample type, volume, collection time and travel.
