An asbestos inspection is not just a laboratory transaction. Before a representative sample can be collected, the inspector must understand the building assembly: what is visible, what may be concealed, how the component was likely installed, where repairs or additions changed the material, and what the proposed work will actually disturb.

Our background comes from decades of hands-on construction—not occasional exposure to job sites. We understand demolition sequencing, renovation scopes, roofing assemblies, wall and ceiling systems, flooring layers, mechanical spaces and the practical realities contractors encounter after work begins.

Experience that connects inspection to the field.

David Powers has worked in construction since high school and college and has been full-time in the industry since 2009. His experience includes residential remodeling, commercial construction, water-damage projects, project planning, estimating, subcontractor coordination and direct field work.

That foundation is backed by a Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License, CS-114230; Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration 191203; contractor licensing in Massachusetts and Rhode Island; IICRC Water Restoration Technician certification; and Massachusetts Asbestos Inspector license AI901471.

John Powers serves as Manager, Operations & Business Development and is a Massachusetts-Licensed Asbestos Inspector, AI901470. He works directly with clients on inspection coordination, project logistics and business development. Together, David and John combine environmental inspection credentials with a practical understanding of how construction scopes move from proposal to demolition and reconstruction.

Independent inspection and testing.

RPB Environmental Group does not perform asbestos abatement. We identify and document suspect materials, collect representative bulk samples, maintain chain-of-custody, coordinate independent laboratory analysis and issue a report defining what was inspected and what the results mean for the evaluated materials.

Because we do not sell the asbestos removal work, our role remains clear: deliver accurate information that the owner and project team can use to make the next decision.

Reports built for real projects.

We work with homeowners, general contractors, restoration and mitigation companies, real estate professionals, property managers and commercial owners. Every inspection starts with the same questions: What work is planned? Which materials may be disturbed? Who needs the report? What is the deadline? What areas are inaccessible or outside the scope?

RPB Environmental Group serves projects throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Western Massachusetts projects are evaluated case by case based on property location, inspection scope, scheduling, sample volume and requested laboratory turnaround.
